Updates, differences and our first impressions
When Bugaboo launched the Butterfly, it quickly became a favorite with families with young children around the world — not least among our customers here at Petit Stockholm. Now comes the Bugaboo Butterfly 2, with smart improvements that make an already beloved stroller even better.
But what's really new? And is it worth upgrading from the previous Butterfly model? Here we guide you through everything you need to know.

- One-hand footrest adjustment
Smoother and more intuitive use.
- Updated materials & details
More premium in everything from textures to seams, colors and buttons.
- Extra storage pocket on the back of the seat
Smart and practical for small items.
- Still ultra-compact and lightweight
The same iconic fold and travel-friendly dimensions — now with even more functionality.
Newborn-friendly lying position
The biggest news is the completely flat lying position.
The biggest news is the completely flat lying position.
This means that the Butterfly 2 can now be used from birth, without a separate carrycot (although many will still appreciate the extra coziness).
Perfect if you want a single ultra-compact stroller from day 1.

Bigger wheels = smoother ride
Butterfly has always been the city and travel's best friend. With larger wheels, the ride is even smoother — especially on cobblestones and curbs. A welcome boost for all your everyday walks.
Smart comfort details
Bugaboo has also fine-tuned the details, including:
• New one-hand adjustable footrest
• Updated materials and textures
• Extra storage pocket on the back of the seat
• More harmonized design & color choices
Everything in line with Bugaboo's premium feel — but even more thoughtful.
Perfect for travel — just like before
The iconic one-hand folding system remains.
The weight is still ultra-low.
And the size meets hand luggage dimensions on many airlines*.
*As always, we recommend double-checking with your airline before departure.
